The Getech Group Joins the GRSG

The Getech Group, providers of natural resources exploration data and expertise, has joined the Geological Remote Sensing Group (GRSG) as a Corporate Member to help widen the understanding of how satellite derived geoscience data can provide huge benefits to both explorationists and research staff.

The GRSG is a special interest group of the Geology Society of London and the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc) which brings together professionals and students from all over the world, whose work concentrates on the geologic aspects of remote sensing.

Getech has an enviable reputation for providing geological insight and has over twenty years of experience in processing satellite gravity data. One of the company’s flagship products is a global, coherent satellite-derived gravity dataset for all offshore areas, which was constructed using the very latest altimeters, before being merged with the company’s comprehensive onshore database to provide a complete global coverage.

The two organisations will work closely together to promote the sharing of thoughts, ideas and knowledge within this discipline to the mutual benefit of both organisations, as well as their customers and members.

Commenting on their decision to join the GRSG, Head of Gravity and Magnetic Solutions for Getech, Simon Campbell said; “Our recent satellite work has created global gravity data sets of unprecidented  resolution and we look forward to working with the GRSG to help promote the geological insights that can be gleaned from these and other remote sensing data.”

In response, GRSG Chairman Charlotte Bishop explained more about the ambitions of  her organisation and how Getech will play their part within those plans; “Getech is a well known company and brand throughout the Oil & Gas industry and straddles both the geophyical and remote sensing domains in its application which is not represented by any other GRSG member in the same way. As we continue to broaden our outreach this represents a major stepping stone towards our goal of increased and wider membership across the industry and I am delighted to welcome them as part of GRSG
