Advances in Geological/Geotechnical Data Handling and Modelling Conference, 2nd October 2014 at the Geological Society of London

Advances in Geological/Geotechnical Data Handling and Modelling Conference
Thursday, 2nd October 2014
The Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BG

The Engineering Group of the Geological Society invites you to attend a one day conference that endeavours to explore advances in geological and geotechnical data handling and modelling. Speakers from leading consultants, ground investigation contractors, Client Organisations and research institutes will present different techniques and case studies, whilst looking to the future and considering the overall benefits. The day will be split into four parts, encouraging themed discussion in this ever progressing field:

1. Data gathering in the field / remote monitoring
2. Data transfer, storage and collaborative sharing
3. Turning data into information – geological modelling
4. Industry benefits and future work

Presentations will appeal to a wide audience identifying the vast applicability of data handling and modelling techniques. Topics include rail, natural hazards, offshore, tunnelling, risk and financial implications.
