8th EARSeL IMAGING SPECTROSCOPY WORKSHOP, La Cité Nantes Events Center, France, from 8-10 April 2013

DUE DATE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: MONDAY, 17 December 2012

We are pleased to announce that abstract submission and registration is now open for:

8th EARSeL IMAGING SPECTROSCOPY WORKSHOP

The workshop will take place at  La Cité Nantes Events Center, France, from 8-10 April 2013 and will bring together scientists, students, decision makers, end users, and commercial companies that are using this key technology.

The meeting will cover all themes related to imaging spectroscopy. As several spaceborne missions are scheduled for the near future, this workshop is particularly important and will provide a unique opportunity to discuss recent developments in imaging and related spectroscopic methods for thematic and environmental research at ground, airborne and spaceborne levels, explore the integration of spatial and temporal coverage afforded by imaging instruments with the high spectral resolution data obtained for every pixel, discuss ground-based spectroscopic techniques, such as field spectroscopy and related hyperspectral sensing methods, learn and discuss how these methods can address key environmental issues and new areas of environmental science.

Contributions are invited on all topics within geoinformation and remote sensing applications, especially those listed below:

  • Existing and future orbital IS sensors
  • Existing and future airborne IS sensors
  • Image processing methods and tools
  • New analytical techniques
  • Calibration and validation
  • Application to terrestrial ecosystems
  • Coastal and marine ecosystems
  • Inland waters
  • Urban environment
  • Geology and soils
  • Risk management
  • Climate change
  • Commercial applications

You are invited to submit an abstract (one A4 page). Submission of abstracts is via EARSeL’s Conference Management System (https://www.conferences.earsel.org/). Please indicate your presentation preference: oral or poster and provide your full affiliation.

The programme will offer keynote presentations, paper presentation sessions, poster sessions, round table meetings and social events to share your ideas, explore on-going research, future developments, including state-of-the-art applications, and network with the professionals from academia, government and industry who are interested in promoting remote sensing activities among remote sensing laboratories at the European level and beyond.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Abstract submission due date: 17 December 2012
Notification of acceptance: 15th January 2013
Final Programme: 31st January 2013
Submission of full paper: 10th April 2013

Presenting authors, oral or poster, are requested to pay their registration fee before 28 February 2013. Otherwise their contributions will be removed from the final programme.

Exhibitors and Sponsors: There are a number of opportunities for sponsorship of the meeting and for companies and organisations to exhibit at the meeting. Please send your enquiries to the organisers (Veronique.Carrere@univ-nantes.fr). Similarly, any groups wishing to propose special sessions for the meeting please also contact the organisers.
