New Technologies Workshop
10:00 – 16:00, 27 Sep 2017
Room 201 Skempton Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering,
Imperial College London, London SW7 2AZ
Advanced remote sensing techniques – InSAR, LIDAR, hyperspectral imaging – are merging with new tools – portable, vehicle mounted, UAVs, hybrid air vehicles – to create powerful new technologies for site investigation, hazard monitoring and asset management.
This workshop features introductions to these technologies from leading developers in industry and academia, showcases the experience of users, and an opportunity for discussion.
These technologies have the potential to impact all areas of Civil Engineering and beyond, from site surveying, to long term monitoring of power lines, forests and landslides.
This workshop is aimed at informing the widest possible audience and all are welcome to attend any part of the meeting or all of it, including the open discussion that concludes the day.
Talks will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions, with lengthy discussions deferred to the final hour.
The workshop will be hosted in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London, South Kensington.
